Seasoned criminal defense attorney Lee McArthur Scott is of-counsel to Criminal Defense Clinics, defending cases in North Florida and the Florida Panhandle. In addition to her vast resume of criminal defense, Lee has litigation experience involving family law including divorce and custody cases. Lee is known for her excellent communication skills, legal research and writing of motions, oral argument, and cross-examination in trial.

Before she joined Criminal Defense Clinics, Lee worked as an assistant public defender for Henry Mark Sims in the 14th Judicial Circuit of Florida. At Attorney Sims’ office, and subsequently in private criminal defense practice, Lee has defended criminal cases of all types and severity; there’s truly no case she hasn’t seen.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications with a concentration in Print Journalism from Eckerd College and went on to earn her law degree from Samford University. After graduating law school, Lee attended George Washington University as a candidate for her Master of Law and Letters degree.

Lee is a member of the prestigious Inns of Court in Bay County since 2019, Lee served on a Judicial Nominating Commission from 2014 to 2018, which nominated Judges for the 14th Judicial Circuit of Florida.

As a longtime member of the Florida Bar, Lee strives to be the most reliable counsel for her clients and her goal every day is to successfully defend her clients to the best of her ability. In her downtime, she enjoys spending time with her two sons and fishing.
